Team Highlights

The 6th Grade Legends completed competed in the JMC Fall League. The Legends return seven players from the fall season, and welcome back Clare Banker and add newcomer Natalie Ausherman from the winter season.

Natalie played in her fist season as a Legend.

Sarah Tate is in her third year as a Legend. She has developed into an outstanding two-way player at all five positions.

2018-2019

Sarah Tate led her team in assists, steals, rebounds, blocked shots and points. Sarah is a dynamic player on the inside and outside. She had 283 points while shooting 49% from the floor for the 6th grade team. She now has over 100 career assists, 700 rebounds, 350 steals and 180 blocked shots. She has scored 741 points in her career, second all time. She improved her shooting percentage from 39% in the fall to 54% in the winter league. Scored over 20 points 4 times including career high 25. Had 5 double-doubles in the winter league. She also plays for the 8th grade team.

2017-18

Sarah's main contributions came as a point guard and post, as she became an equal threat on the inside, outside and driving.

Sarah led the 5th grade team in scoring (109 points, 7.2 pg), three pointers (3), rebounds (127, 8.5 pg), steals (31) and blocked shots (57, 3.8 pg). She shot 36% from the floor. Had 13 points and 14 rebounds in 20-15 victory against first place Brakoo in JMC winter league. Hit game clinching lefty layup in first win of the season. Had season high 15 points vs. Clearfield.

She also led the 6th grade fall, winter and spring teams in scoring, rebounds, and block shots.

Lydia “LT” Tate is entering her third year as a Legend.

2018-19

Lydia “LT” Tate was tied for second on the team in assists with 21, was 4th on the team in rebounding with 45, and third in steals with 32. LT uses her size and strength to create space to generate shots. She played all three guard positions and finished 3rd in scoring with 68 points. Many of her points came on strong moves to the basket. Game high was 11 points.

2017-18

LT led the team in assists with 16 and was third in scoring with 50 points. She was fourth on the team in rebounds with 39, and first among the guards. She also had 13 steals. LT had 2 assists and 7 rebounds in big win over first place Brakoo, including the shot that gave the Legends the lead. Had 3 assists, 7 rebounds and career high 13 points on 6-8 shooting vs. Clearfield.

LT also played on the 6th grade team.

2018-19

Natalie Ausherman joined the team for the winter season. Her playing time steadily increased as she became integrated with the team. Scored 14 points and had 19 steals in the winter season. Had 4 steals against Dubois Dream. Shot 37% from the floor. Had 7 assists.

Love' McGriff

Lily is in her second year as a Legend.

2018-19

Lily Williams provided height and quickness on defense and developed into a long range shooter. Had first career three pointer. Scored 23 points on the season and grabbed 13 steals. Had 5 points in win over Dubois. Shot 27% from the floor and averaged 1.5 pointer per game in the winter season.

2017-18

Lily Williams finished her first year as a Legend, playing up one year as a 4th grader on a 5th grade team. Lily is one of the fastest Legends and quickly developed into an aggressive defender and long range shooting threat.

Lily had 21 points and was fourth on the team in steals with 17. She also forced many jump balls by tying up offensive players. Had 6 assists on the season. Scored 8 points in each of the Clearfield Shootouts. Her most productive game came against Clearfield when she score 6 points to go with 2 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals.

Sarah is in her second year as a Legend.

2018-19

Sarah Williams developed into a tough interior player who likes to play near the basket. Her value goes far beyond statistics as she often does the dirty work underneath. Sarah finished 4th on her team in rebounds. She averaged a point per game in the winter season. Had 4 rebounds and 4 points in win vs. Hot Shots. Shot 50% from the foul line.

2017-18

Sarah Williams completed her first year as a Legend, playing up one year as a 4th grader on a 5th grade team. Sarah develop into a tough inside player that battled for every rebound and loose ball, and developed a nice short bank shot.

Sarah had 33 rebounds on the year, including 20 offensive rebounds, despite often being the smallest post on the court. She also scored 14 points, almost all on tough contested inside shots. Was second on the team with 11 rebounds in the first two game Clearfield shootout, where she also scored 6 points.

Love' is in her second season on the Legends.

2018-19

Love’ McGriff played all 5 positions for the Legends, settling in at guard. Love’ shot over 40% from the floor in the winter season. She scored 63 points on the season to go with 19 assists. She was second on the team in rebounds with 71 and second in steals with 44. Hit her first career three pointer. Had 3 assists in a game several times, including championship game.

2017-18

Love’ McGriff finished her first season as a Legend. Love’ began to user her great athleticism to her advantage as she became a very intelligent player, leading to many steals, rebounds and defensive stops in the post.

Love' had 26 points on the season and was third on the team in rebounding with 63. She had 40 offensive rebounds. Love’ also had 13 steals and forced many jump balls. Her most important plays came in a two point loss to Holidaysburg when she forced OT with two huge shots down the stretch. Led the team with 7 points on 3-4 shooting and 7 rebounds in that game. Had 6 points in the final game of the year on 3-5 shooting.

She also played on the 6th grade spring team.

Claire is in her second season as a Legend. She did not play in the Fall season.

2018-19

Clare Banker played in the winter season. She provided size on the inside and was a constant threat around the basket. Was second on the team in rebounding (62) and points (60) in the 13 game season. Was 5th on the team in steals with 24. Shot 67% from the foul line and 35% from the floor. Had 14 points on 7-10 shooting in win over Clearfield.

2017-18

Clare Banker completed her first year as a Legend and developed into a strong post player, able to score from both sides of the basket. She became a tough rebounder and interior defender.

Clare was second on the team in scoring with 57 points, shooting 32% from the floor. She was second on the team in offensive rebounds with 55, and total rebounds with 80. Led the team shooting 44% from the foul line. She hit the game clinching basket in the big win vs. Brakoo. Had team high 26 points in the three game Clearfield Shootout on 50% shooting, including a career high 10 in the last game.

Nora Roe is in her first year on the Legends.

2018-19

Nora Roe developed throughout the season and provided depth at post. Had 2 points and 4 rebounds in the semi-final playoffs. Scored in two out of three playoff games. Had 4 points in win over Dubois. Increased her playing time as the year progressed.

Lindsey is in her second year on the Legends.

2018-19

Lindsey Dietz played primarily the three becoming a an excellent in-bound passer and help defender. She was instrumental in breaking the press. She averaged 1 assist per game in the winter league finishing the season 5th on the team with 14. Lindsey also grabbed 14 rebounds and had 7 steals.

2017-18

Lindsey Dietz completed her first season as a Legend and established herself as a solid three-guard on the left side of the court. She was the primary in-bounder for the team, and was a key playmaker.

Lindsey was third on the team in assists with 10, and had 20 offensive rebounds. She became a strong defender at the top of the zone, grabbing 10 steals and forcing many jump balls and turnovers. Lindsey was second on the team with 8 steals in the first Clearfield shootout. Scored 6 points in a game twice, both times against Clearfield. Had two games where she made 50% or more of her shots.

She also played on the 6th grade spring team.

Annika is playing in her first year on the Legends.

2018-19

Annika Bechtel was the primary point guard for the team in the winter season. She was tied for second on the team with 21 assists and grabbed 29 steals. She had her first two career three pointers. She finished second in scoring with 69 points. Scored double digits twice. Had 9 points in the Championship game. Raised shooting percentage to 47% in the winter season.
